DTN Early Word Grains         09/08 07:22
   Grains Mostly Lower as of 7:15 a.m.

   Corn futures are expected to open steady as of 7:15 a.m. CDT; soybeans
steady to 1 lower; wheat 1 to 3 lower.

GENERAL  OPENING CALL as of 7:!5 a.m.   Corn steady, Soybeans steady to 1
lower, Wheat 1 to 3 lower.

7:15 AM e-CBOT   Corn 3/4 lower (December), Soybeans unchanged (November),
Wheat 3 lower (Chicago December).

   The overnight session was quiet once again, with most contracts drifting
lower. However, an early Wednesday morning rally in the DJIA futures helped to
trim some of the losses with corn moving fractionally higher.

OUTSIDE MARKETS   The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 107.24 points lower
Tuesday at 10,340.69. The overnight session saw the Dow Jones futures trade 33
points higher indicating the market could see renewed buying interest
Wednesday. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 201.40 points
at 9,024.60. European markets were lower. The overnight crude oil market was
$.34 lower at $73.75. Brent crude was $.51 lower at $77.23. The December gold
contract was $1.70 higher at $1,261.00 while the U.S. dollar index is 0.056
lower at 82.764. Soybeans at the Chinese Dalian Commodity Exchange were higher
while the Malaysian palm oil market was also higher.
